Now UBC students can apply for NEW IEEE membership ONLINE

Simply point your web browser to the IEEE Student Membership Application Page and click on Join IEEE as a Student or Graduate Student Member if you want to join IEEE as a student.

Starting 2007, IEEE will only accept membership applications and/or renewals from Students via the web.

Paper application forms and renewal forms for Students will no longer be produced. IEEE will, however continue to offer a brochure highlighting the benefits of student membership. These brochures were distributed to Sections and Student Branches during August.

If you do not have a credit card, please complete the online application -- secure or non-secure and choose the Print and Mail with Payment option on the Checkout page.

You can apply online using either a Secure Connection or a Non-Secure Connection (requires a credit card)

*Secure option to safeguard you against credit card fraud by encrypting data as it is transferred from your web browser to our server

*Use the Non-secure option if you are accessing this site from behind a firewall or your web browser does not support secure servers.

Please note that the quickest way to start your membership services is by using a credit card to pay your membership dues. There is a combination web and 800 number process that is secure for using credit cards. You should follow the directions on the web. By using a credit card, once your application is approved, IEEE staff is able to download the application and the credit card payment at the same time and the application is immediately sent to Admission and Advancement for processing the same day.

An acknowledgement letter will be sent to you including their IEEE membership number within five business days of your application and payment being received and processed by the IEEE. Within approximately two weeks of your application being processed, you will also be sent their the first issue of Spectrum magazine and the new member welcome kit.
